Blurb: Museum curator Summer Hawthorne considered the exquisite ice-blue ceramic bowl given to her by her beloved Japanese nanny a treasure of sentimental value — until somebody tried to kill her for it.
The priceless relic is about to ignite a global power struggle that must be stopped at all costs. It’s a desperate situation, and international operative Takashi O’Brien has received his directive: everybody is expendable. Back in the long long ago, a two level book store opened near where I live. This store (for a few years at least) was a game changer for me. I had a small source of income and unrepentantly spent too much of it here.
One section of this store that opened up a new world of accessible books for me was the romance section. I will admit I didn’t like being seen in this section or spending too much time in here but still it had WAY more romance books than my library 😍

When the Lusitania sank, one survivor became a changed man, giving up his life as a petty thief – but keeping the small silver statue he lifted, a family heirloom to future generations. Now, nearly a century later, that priceless heirloom, one of a long-separated set of three, has been stolen. And Malachi, Gideon, and Rebecca Sullivan are determined to recover their great-great-grandfather’s treasure, reunite the Three Fates, and make their fortune.
The quest will take them from their home in Ireland to Helsinki, Prague, and New York, where they will meet a brilliant scholar who will aid them in their hunt – and an ambitious woman who will stop at nothing to acquire the Fates.
It’s February and due to my love of the genre, I’m focusing this month on the romance genre! I would be remiss if I didn’t include of the greats of the genre, so here is my Long Lost Review of one of my favourite Nora Roberts books.

Of the gods, the ones that were always a favourite of mine were the Moirae, or the Three Fates. So this book not only combine my love of romance and mythology but also featured my favourite goddesses!

Blurb: Quick-witted hustler Ghost is no stranger to living dangerously; survival has always been the name of the game.
He’s just always gone it alone.
Now he’s got the wrong people breathing down his neck, and the only way out demands placing his trust in the unlikeliest of heroes: Duncan Rook, a gruff cop whose ethics are as solid as his body.
Cozying up to a criminal is hardly what Duncan’s reputation on the force needs—especially when that criminal is temptation personified. Ghost is Duncan’s polar opposite, and the last person he expected to fall for.
So then why does every imaginable scenario for taking down their common enemy end with Ghost in his arms?

My Thoughts: Rough Trade is such an emotional roller-coaster! I am not exaggerating when I say I stayed awake until 3am reading this book. And not just for the action packed suspense of the story, but for the damned emotions it kept making me feel!
Plot wise, Rough Trade is action and angst packed. From intense action scenes, to emotional conversations, Bell has packed so much into this book. However it wasn’t the action that kept me reading into the wee hours of the night, it was the emotions.
