It’s been around four months since I introduced my post feature, Anticipated Arrivals. In that time I’ve been excited by the release of a number of things, from new music, to new movies, to my own discovery of an already released book. I designed this post to either be a precursor to a future post or chance for me to let all my enthusiasm out in a healthy way.
Since I have had an opportunity to experience the ‘new to me’ content, I thought I’d touch base and let you know how all that I was anticipating has played out.
Dirty Computer by Janelle Monae.
Post: Anticipated Arrival: Janelle Monáe’s Dirty Computer.
I love this album ❤ From start to beginning, there is no end to the genius and great tunes. ‘Crazy, Classic, Life’ is a favorite of mine, with the emotional speech intro getting me every time. Of her albums, Dirty Computer feels the most personal and is an incredible experience. Continue reading “Anticipated Arrival Rundown”
It seems trite to say that I’m a big fan of music, but I’m going to go ahead and say that I am a big fan of music 😛 I’m well versed in music theory, music making, I can play over five instruments, and I have music-listening-to down to a science!

The below are just some of my favourite queer singers who are out there representing. I hope you enjoy the list and give some of these musicians a listen 🙂 Continue reading “My Favourite Queer Musicians”
What is it?!
Janelle Monáe has released two new songs from her upcoming third album, Dirty Computer. The songs are Make Me Feel and Django Jane and they are amazing!
Make Me Feel is so poppy and rhythmic and I cannot stop listening to it. The film clip that accompanies the song is beautiful. The song features Monáe flirting with a woman, with a man, and then with herself ❤

The Electric Lady is the second studio album of singer-songwriter Janelle Monáe. The hip-hop stylings of Monáe’s music is one that pushes the very boundaries of the genre. Each album of Monáe’s features a wide array of styles from straight up hip-hop, to fast paced dance tracks, soft moving ballads to classical overtures.
The album is split up into two suites, Suite IV and Suite V which make up part of a larger and continuing story of Monáe’s alter ego, Cindi Mayweather. The character Cindi Mayweather and her tale of love in an dystopic, android filled, world have spanned across all three of Monáe’s albums (two of which are studio, the other is an EP).
