Book Bingo Update 11

I did it! It’s done. All 25 of these beautiful little squares have been marked off and read 🥰I’ve found this years Book bingo really challenging and enjoyed a lot of what I read for these squares.

While the traditional bingo card won’t be returning next year, keep an eye out in the coming week for my new reading challenge for 2020. Until then, enjoy my final books that finish off this years challenge!

Transgender Main character

A Matter of Disagreement by E.E. Ottoman

A Matter of Disagreement is a really cute story about two academics from opposing areas of study who as much as they want to hate each other, really enjoy the hell our of each others company.

I really enjoyed the story of these two characters as they tried to wrangle their professional feelings and work towards being friends. It was great seeing that romantic spark from the start and watching as the two tried so hard to at different times hate and like each other.

Finish that TRILOGy

Looking For You (Lifesworn #3) by Megan Derr

The third book in the series, Looking For You, brings the Lifesworn series to a climatic end. The series is set in a fantastical world where in the first book, we follow a princess as she escapes her kingdom as her uncle usurps the throne. The two other books tell the stories of people close to Princess Shana and how they all ultimately work towards returning her to her kingdom and throne.

In each book the series explores a number of polyamorous relationships through incredibly different storylines. As per usual I am constantly in awe of the seamless way that Megan Derr creates worlds and lores within her work. However as always, the book could have stood to be given one last proofread before being published.

Hard to find genre

The Mistress and Her Men by Minerva Howe

For my hard to find genre, I decided to go with a polyamorous femdom historical romance novel. I’m not going to lie, I agonised over that sentence 😅

Book Bingo Update 8 (DOUBLE BINGO)

DOUBLE BINGO

It’s September and I have done it! I’ve hit bingo, not once but twice! I’m still going to carry on and try and fill the rest of the card. So you’ll still see this monthly update. But in the mean time:

Paranormal

Dragon’s Hoard by M.A. Church

I bought this book ages ago from Dreamspinner Press and somehow never got around to reading it. After I found this gem in my digital bookshelf I quickly spent a day reading and loving it!

The book marks off not only my paranormal square but also one of my 2019 goals which was to read a Dreamspun Beyond book.

Goodreads RECOMMENDATION

Aquicorn Cove by Katie O’Neill

I am pretty sure (read 100% sure) that Goodreads recommended Aquicorn Cove to me because I have just finished reading The Tea Dragon Society. I have also previously read Katie O’Neill’s book Princess Princess Ever After for this very Book Bingo.

Book Bingo Update 6

non-fiction

The Joyful Frugalista by Serina Bird.

Okay, so I wanted to enjoy this book so much but I just couldn’t. The book is toted as a personal finance one that will help you grow your cash and be savvy with your money – it does neither.

Sci-Fi

The Fox, The Dog, and the King by Matt Doyle.

I feel so bad that it took me so long to read and review this book 😅 Especially since it and the first book of the Cassie Tam series are so amazing.

While I wouldn’t class this book as a typical Sci-Fi novel is nonetheless occupies such a Sci-Fi space. I’m constantly in awe of the technology of these books and love the world building surrounding these sci-fi-mysteries.

Misadventures with a Professor by Sierra Simone

I talked about this book in my recent post, My TBR Pile, and much to my own surprise, I got around to reading the book 😱

My TBR Pile

It’s April and I’m already falling behind in my reading goals 😅

My trouble at the moment is that I keep re-reading and picking up fluffy books that don’t count towards my Reading Challenges (fan fiction I am looking at you). I’m also struggling a little bit with picking books that fit challenges and then sticking to these books.

I may also have a few books that I need to read and review but for a multitude of reasons am dragging my heels. I thought that by popping them all into a post, it may prompt me to actually pick up the books and get them read 😊

Read that Sequel

Heated Rivalry by Rachel Reid

Second book in the Game Changer series, I was incredibly lucky to be given an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. Like the first book, I absolutely adored the characters in the novel.
