Self Care Saturday: Black Rose by Lush

Black Rose by Lush

Wash away your woes with sweet rose. This richly romantic Turkish rose and lemon love story will have you falling head over heels for bathing all over again. A kiss of conditioning Fair Trade cocoa butter hydrates, while balancing geranium leaves your skin looking blooming beautiful.

Black Rose is intense! The scent of the bath is strong and aromatic with my bathroom smelling of roses for days after using the bath bomb. The bath water is also so amazing to look at – black but with silver glitter shimmering in the among the water.

Okay, so I do realise that so far a lot of these ‘Self Care Saturday’ posts have been taken up by bath bombs. Any why wouldn’t they? Bath bombs are great! But another aspect of self care for me, is looking after myself during my more stressful moments.

Ways that I am able to do this is by trying to relax with a cup of tea. It doesn’t necessarily have to be the tea itself that helps, but the tea making process – namely being able to get out of the moment, to step away, and have a cuppa.

Self Care Saturday: Make Yourself Cozy by Katie Vaz

Make Yourself Cozy: A Guide for Practicing Self-Care by Katie Vaz

Embrace the cozy pleasures of life with Katie Vaz’s interactive guide to self-care.

Freshly baked bread. Cloud-like pillows. Lavender tea. Katie Vaz’s book on self-care shows readers how slow, cozy warmth can help them deal with the anxieties and challenges of everyday life. Filled with tips for creating the perfect atmosphere of coziness (super soft blankets, fluffy robes, and something binge-worthy on TV) as well as sweet, gentle prompts that inspire readers to fill in their own content (“Fill these clouds with words that make you feel light and free”), this book encourages all of us to slow down and find joy in the little things.

Taken from the book blurb

You may have noticed that the majority of the Self Care Saturday posts are about bath bombs or other bath related items – well fear not because this week I am using this space for a book review!

Make Yourself Cozy is a beautiful book by Kate Vaz that not only educates about self care but has so many cute illustrations that illustrate examples of how you can practise self care yourself.

Self Care Saturday: Soak Infusion – Lavender + Hibiscus by Salt by Hendrix

Soak Infusion – Lavender + Hibiscus by Salt by Hendrix

Relaxing the nervous system, relieving aches and extracting toxins from the body, our Soak Infusion mixes the mineral powers of Epsom and Dead Sea salts with the healing properties of lavender and dried hibiscus. Lavender heals the skin and soul whilst hibiscus enhances skin elasticity and purifies the complexion.

Soak Infusion – Lavender + Hibiscus is really pretty looking bath salt. On a recent trip to Canberra I picked up a sample pack of five bath salts by Salts by Hendrix. Lavender + Hibiscus was my first soak from the pack and it was a little bit different than my usual.

Self Care Saturday: Groovy Kind of Love by Lush

Groovy Kind of Love by Lush

Fill your bathtub with peace, love and positivity – melting into rings of rainbow colour, Groovy Kind Of Love is built with trippy hippies in mind. Flower children will fall for this combination of rosewood, bergamot and ylang ylang oil, which will lift spirits and leave your skin toned, balanced and refreshed.

Taken from the Lush AU website.

Okay so I may chosen this bath bomb solely because it is rainbow. Groovy Kind of Love has the added bonus of not just looking great but it is such a nice experience. The scent of the bath bomb is Rosewood Oil, Bergamot Oil, and Ylang Ylang – which combines to make this smooth and fun smell which was oddly exhilarating.

Oh who am I kidding, Groovy Kind of Love is like bathing in lolly scented water and it is amazing!

Self Care Saturday: Strawberries and Cream by Lush

Strawberries and Cream by Lush

What could be better than bathing in a big bath full of strawberries and cream? Use whole, or twist in half to share with a loved one. Fruity strawberry powder freshens and tones, while the creamy filling in this sandwiched bath bomb melts, leaving behind deeply softening water. A touch of black pepper oil gives this bath bomb an edge and brings out its sweet berry scent.

Taken from the Lush AU website.

Strawberries and Cream by Lush is such a fun time. The colours of the bath are a nice soothing pink and the scent is so smooth and lovely. Part of Lush’s #WetheBathers promotion which has seen 50(!) new bath bombs be added to their shop, Strawberries and Cream is one that I had to try.

Self Care Saturday: More Tea and Sympathy by Lush

More Tea and Sympathy by Lush

A soothing, cleansing soak is anyone’s cup of tea. Lay back and steep to your heart’s content as an Earl Grey tea bag emerges from the bright pink fizzing teapot that releases a feel-good bergamot and neroli fragrance and a spattering of blue cornflowers. With green tea to clarify and cleanse the skin, there’s plenty of reason to treat yourself or a loved one to a much-deserved cuppa.

Taken from the Lush AU website.

Okay so I just want to start off by saying that this bath bomb is a teapot. With an actual teabag inside 😲Not only is it themed to the max with a lovely scent but after the bath bomb has dissolved, you continue to steep because it has an Early Grey teabag inside 🥰

Be still my beating heart!

Self Care Saturday: Polyamorous by Lush

New Year, new blog feature! I’ve decided to try and write one Self Care Orientated post a month. Most of the time this will mean a post about a fancy bath bomb but others may include reviews or discussions on other things that help me deal with stress.

I think Self Care is important and I hope you enjoy the new feature ❤

Oh my goodness, Polyamorous by Lush was beautiful. I don’t usually enjoy bath oils or melts but this was absolutely amazing. Watching as Polyamorous melted was an enjoyable experience, seeing the pink hearts slowly dissolve and tinge the water was really lovely.
